Monday Meal Planning -Super Bowl Style

Mornin'! My little people seem to have finally turned a corner!! Hurray! I want this sickness out of here. Unfortunately it seems my husband has caught it. Ugh. I'm pretty sure dealing with a sick 35 year old male is 100 x worse than a sick 2 year old. Poor thing. Let's hope he's better by Sunday, because I have a doozy of a Super Bowl Menu planned! And although he'll be rooting for the Giants and I'll be rooting for the Pats, at least we can agree on the food. Now if only I can convince at least one of my girls to root with me.....

Meatless Monday: Hearty Lentil and Black Bean Soup w/ Smoked Paprika

Tuesday: Crock Pot Teriyaki Chicken

Wednesday: Shaker Chicken Noodle Soup

Thursday: Swedish Meatballs

Friday: Caramelized Onion and Prosciutto Pizza

Saturday: Braised French Onion Chicken with Gruyere

Super Bowl Sunday:
White Queso Dip
Bloomin' Onion Bread
Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos
Sticky Asian Chicken Wings

Happy Monday!

Tuesday Meal Planning (yeah...sorry 'bout that)

Tuesday..what a weird day to meal plan. I had intended to get this up yesterday afternoon, but...I didn't. And now the girls and I are a little under the weather. Cough, cough. Sniff, sniff. Trying to meal plan with everybody constantly needing a drink or a cuddle or their nose blown isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world. So we're keeping this one short and sweet. I need to get back to humidifiers and dirty laundry.

Tuesday: Asian Lettuce Cups

Wednesday: Broiled Tilapia with Thai-Coconut Curry

Thursday: Homemade Chipotle Burrito Bowl

Friday: Espresso Steak Salad (Espresso Steak Rub Recipe)

Saturday: Southern Chicken and Corn Chowder

Sunday: Crock-pot Italian Turkey Meatballs

p.s. 5 out of the 6 recipes are pretty dang healthy!!! Hurray!

Happy Tuesday! Now can you pass me the VapoRub?

Oh hey, Vermont.

Oh, sigh..what a weekend. The girls and I went up to Vermont for a few days with friends. And it snowed, finally! A little skiing, a little sledding, a lot of crafting. We hung out by the fire and watched movies. We walked around in the village and had Bloody Mary's and maybe a shot of Jager, or two. The grown ups, I mean. Ski villages are so magical. Everyone is happy and full of adrenaline from being outside and racing down the slopes. The air is almost electric, you can feel the crackle in the air. We had loads of fun. And we can't wait to go back...

Snow! REAL snow!

This little one can't hang too long. "HELP ME!!!"

Radar. He is in love with me. The feeling is mutual

More her speed. Crafting galore

They called this tub the "Hot Tub" Little did they realize the real hot tub was downstairs and outside.

If you're in Vermont, you MUST go to The Vermont Country Store. My 5 year old declared it, "Awesome!"

Click!

I didn't realize cow's HAD voices.

Oh, Martha.

"Gee, your hair smells terrific" Actually, no. It smells yuck.

They smelled all the soap. Twice.

What a blast!!! Thanks, Dawn and Greg! We had so much fun.

Back to reality.
Happy Monday!

Monday Meal Planning

Morning peeps! Did anyone else stay up way too late watching the Golden Globes? I did. Which is weird, because I normally don't watch awards shows, except for the Oscars. But then my Facebook feed went crazy over Rob Lowe and I rushed upstairs to watch. Oh, Bradley Cooper. His hair should have a fan page. Maybe it already does? Anyway...I'm drinking loads of coffee today. On top of that we're on day three of Operation Underpants. My 2 year old is kicking butt! But I'm starting to lose it a bit. Cabin fever is setting in, hard!!! I need to see the outside world. I need to listen to awful music on my car radio. I need a trip to Trader Joe's...you know, all the good stuff. Instead I'll meal plan. Because I can't survive on coffee alone. Here's what we're having this week.

Monday: Crock Pot Tomato-Basil Parmesan Soup

Tuesday: Baked Buffalo Chicken Pasta (because It's my birthday, and I'll eat pasta if I want to!)

Wednesday: Comforting Beef and Barley Soup

Thursday: Autumn Chopped Salad (I'll probably add some rotisserie chicken)

Friday: Crock Pot Carne Asada

Saturday: Mexi-Chicken Campanelle

Sunday: Spicy Peanut Noodles

I'm getting hungry. How 'bout you??

Happy Monday!

Monday Meal Planning - again

Hey, peeps! It's that time again. I'm feeling like some heat and bunch of crock pot meals. It just seems right. And easy. I'm all about easy and mess-free this week. Oh, and my birthday is coming up. It's next Tuesday. I may be a little cranky about this. Normally I'm just meh, about it. This time, cranky because it's sort-of big birthday. A number I'm not entirely comfortable with, to be honest. I'm guess I'm just gonna have to power through it. My loving husband is taking me out on Friday night. So at least there's no cooking, right?!! RIGHT??!!! Right. I think I'm just gonna cook want I to eat this week. It IS almost my birthday, and I need all the comforting I can get. And with that, let's plan.

Monday: BBQ Meatballs with Delicious, Creamy, Mashed Potatoes

Tuesday: Crock pot Korean Beef Tacos

Wednesday: Crock pot BBQ Beer Chicken

Thursday: Crock pot Bolognese Sauce (making this w/ ground turkey)

Friday: We're going out, y'all! But you should make: Greek Pizza

Saturday: Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry with Hoisin and Ginger

Sunday: Italian Chicken Soup

Happy Monday!

New Years Mini-Shoots - Ringing in the New Year w/ The S Family

We were so lucky to have my best friend and her family come celebrate the New Year with us.  We've been attached at the hip since six grade. Or as I said in my Maid of Honor speech at their wedding, my hip and her head. The size difference is hilarious, to say the least! Thankfully, our husbands have become great friends over the years, and our kids are very close in age. So spending time together is incredibly fun, crazy and loud! These two have gotten very comfortable in front of my camera and I got some super silly ones. My favorite kind!

My bff and I may have danced our way through the countdown, Just Dance 3 anyone? But we still had a fantastic weekend! It's so fun to celebrate with the ones you love. Hope you love the pictures as much as I do, Tammy and Jason!

I added a couple of silly ones at the end. We have just a teeny bit of fun together, as you can see.

Happy 2012!!!

New Years Mini-Shoot - Family fun w/ the D clan.

I've know this Mama since we were in 6th grade. We've been through an incredible amount together, have done incredibly weird and funny things together, and I love her like a sistah. It kills me that she lives in Boston. WAH! But I'm so lucky that we were able to spend New Year's Day together! It was the best way to ring in 2012. How awesome are these two kiddos? I puffy heart them. Hope you love the pics, Amy and Jason! Miss you like crazy.

Happy Wednesday!
